How about free tickets for policemen, firemen, and servicemen and vets with a distinguished record?

Ration them to 2-3 per flight and seat them in strategic locations.

I am all for it. If Brinks hires guards to protect cash, the airlines need to provide guards for priceless human lives.

Right now, there is a system in place named CANPASS for travellers between the U.S. and Canada at Vancouver Airport. After clearance/paperwork, one needs to swipe their passport, a card and provide a handprint for a scanning device to pass customs. This would be a good idea for all those who need to travel regularly. The rest will have to be subject to long searches.
