I think any financial support that goes from the citizens of US should be stopped, and all suspects that live in the US should be extradited to UK. Joe, is it against the law to send money to the IRA or Arafat? If it is, how do you enforce it? There are so many ways to get around it. And if the money stops, do you think that that will change things significantly......not likely. The Jews were given Palestine, the Prots. were given N. Ireland. The Jews made a success of a land that had been very poor; same with the Prots. The settlers at the time, the Arabs and Catholics, are not happy about it especially because their lifestyles suck. The original grievance, the loss of land, incenses the Arabs and Caths. Every minor infraction, every insult, every name calling adds to the list of grievances until the underdogs, the Arabs and Caths. strike back and the war begins. Do you think if we don't send any more money that will change anything? The Caths. and Arabs are not fighting with missiles and lasers, mainly pistols and rifles, hammers and nails. You lose a few dollars in donations...all that means is a few less nails. What the Israelis and N. Irish might consider is setting it up so that the Arabs and Caths. actively participate in the prosperity....really participate, not just the giving out of menial jobs. It will take time and a lot of effort but its doable. If Israel took half the money it spends on defense which is considerable and spent it on the Palestinians now; in a generation, I assure you the Palestinians will have moved up the economic ladder and there will much less fighting. ted
