Tom you surprise me - quick at name calling and denigrating a person's nationality. I've always had you pegged as a libertarian - but blind patriot? And before you start on Canadians remember they got involved in both World Wars long before your country and suffered huge losses in defense of the freedoms you purport to advocate - except freedom of speech. You and g_t do make a sweet pair!

You are entitled to your opinions and I am to mine. But lest you forget:- 1. thanks to the Distant Early Warning system located in Canada's Arctic North, you guys were able to breathe and sleep a whole lot better for many years; 2. I did not presumptuously assume a hallowed right to the protection of the US umbrella: I am where I am by virtue of my geographical location. As for US protection, sometimes the "cure" was worse than the "disease". Vietnam was a case in point (the US left it in shambles), another was the failure to do away with Saddam; 3. as for the so-called burdens, Canada has had its share in a number of places, notably in Europe and in Korea (but do note that the population of Canada is only about 1/9th that of the US); 4. Canadians had participated in the assembly of the first atomic bomb and other vital engineering projects, e.g., the indispensable arm of the Space Shuttle or "Canadarm" was a Canadian achievement and success and a very significant contribution to the space endeavour. I may be a hypocrite, a liar and and a deceiver. So what? Better the devil you know than the devil you don't know, eh? <ggg> Since when did you and/or your kinfolk cease being hypocritical and imperfect? Never at all since the morning of time?????? Lederer, and you will be a lot wiser person and become tolerant of others' points of views and understand where others are coming from, instead of ever being the unmitigating/compulsive, intolerant, arrogant and conceited bigot that you have been. Anyway, let me reiterate: You are entitled to your opinions and I am to mine. If you must have the last word, it is yours. Of course, that depends on whether you wish to save your breath.
