According the link Betty posted, there were quite a few Chinese companies in those buildings. They would seem to have a stake in this.

Chas, I saw on another thread some reports from Asian newspapers. One said, in effect, that China realized it could happen to them. I think they may be on board; of course, what they say and what they really do may be opposites.
