I assume they qualify under this defintion, though i agree with you that we ordinarily use this word to reference a virtuous individual.

How do you characterize the Gulf War celebrations that took place here in the United States. Saddam was our 'enemy du jour' at the time, but the only people that suffered in Iraq during and since the Gulf War were helpless citizens. Our 10 year policy of starvation has worked well...even those Iraqis that hated him 10 years ago see justification in his actions now.~s~ How do you rate our actions, cowardly or heroic? ...or maybe just plain stupid?
