Unfortunately, I agree with this statement. All of it.

My stepdaughter said last night that she feels "frustrated." She could never do this (what the terrorists did) to someone else, but there are people in the world who are willing to and do these things to others.

I thought our way of life was to let 100 guilty persons go free rather than incarcerate (KILL ?) 1 innocent person.

Or is that true only for US citizens?

Even the Oklahoma bomber got a long and fair trial. But then of course he was a US citizen.

Uncle Frank, the problem isn't that the U.S. is seen as gutless but that effective retaliation is almost impossible. The motivation for these attacks is precisely the fact that retalation is so difficult; not the willingness to retaliate.
