Get the beasts, the bastards and the bozos where ever they are - JPR It is now all the more important that US has a department for combating terrorism. Its functions should be that it not only gathers information from all countries on any anti-American entities, individual or organized or loose but takes the appropriate measures to prevent any harm to any US interest anywhere in the world. US should recruit agents in all the countries of the world from among its own citizens to search and identify US enemies. If it can be done with the concurrence of friendly countries, that is fine. If not a clandestine operation is a must esp in unfriendly countries. There should be a database available to all US law-enforcement agencies of all those inimical entities. It is pointless and dangerous to allow non-govt-sponsored foreigners to learn critical skills in this country and inadvertently allow them to use those skills against US interests. All foreigners entering the country should carry identification cards, the information of which can be obtained by all US law enforcement agencies from databases. The movements of the foreigners should be monitored with those IDs just as in the case of the EZ pass motorists or satellite tracking devices. The one found without ID cards -or any such infraction or irregularity - should be identified, taken to court, judged and meted out appropriate disposition. All these should be funded from the fee generated from the foreigners themselves This is a new age. With the advances in technology, people and countries against US interests can use terrorism in the form of fuel-laden missiles as in the present case, or biological contamination of air, water and environment etc. Suitcase atomic and miniature neutron devices are in the future. A certain amount of physiologic paranoia is in order. Human intelligence is very important. With the immigrants and visitors from all countries coming into US, US must make a concerted effort to recruit the willing and able foreign-born to gather information in their countries of origin. The one who blends in well back in their countries would be ideal and each one must have a US handler, control and constant verification of his or her authenticity in US interests.
