the best effect can be achieved right now when Bush would get an overwhelming approval. A year or so down the road the images and the tragedy would be an old news.

I am sure that the US military has all sorts of plans on file both as practice and in preparation. Since Afghanistan is a landlocked country... and there is some tough terrain this would be a real challenging logistical exercise. Who would be willing to provide the route for the heavy equipment?
