There can be no EW without price action. Having said that, once we open, I think it's prudent to compress the action and not look for nicely structured moves. For example, if we open down, then don't look for any other structure as the simple down may well be the complete move in that direction. What I'm saying is that the move could be missing a piece or two and it'll be no time to be strict.

This all assumes we open down.

If we open flat to up, then I would still count the down we had before the open in the futures as a quick move down on the charts. It is more than safe to assume that we would have had a move down.

I have to agree with Allan on that one. I don't think you can have EW without action since it is based on human emotion. However, on any gap move, it will really be difficult to tell what waves were involved in that gap.

Where have I heard that before? Do we opine that the "terrorism war" is as complicated as the "drug war"? I don't know, but I do know that American has not done very well with the "drug war".

Tough problems for sure.
