JP,

<The only time gold was stable (and secured) is when it's price was fixed! >

I see it that gold is the standard and it was the USD that had a fixed value.

In my view, the best money in the world is the one that is the most stable, most durable, that cannot be tampered with, that survive the passage of time.

If your grand grand-father had dig a hole in your backyard several decades ago and bury two chests, one with a kilo of gold and the other one with the equivalent amount in dollars at that time, which one of these two chests would you be eager to find

Can I suggest that if today you bury two chests containing again the same amounts of gold and dollars, your grand grand childs would be looking for the same chest in a hundred years from now as you would do today

The basis for a monetary system should be the best money around: gold.

I am suggesting that this will happen thanks to the new ability that the electronic age is offering to us. The ability to divise gold in micro-amounts and to transfer these amounts at will, to anybody, anywhere in the world.

Paper currencies will be gone in the next couple of decades and the world will use digital currencies only. At that time, which digital currency will you be using... the one that has some gold backing or the fiat digital currency that still rely on a promise to pay by some governements.

I have no doubt, gold will come back as a world currency.
