That would solve the supply problem since they produce between 8 and 12 MB/D but the cost of occupation rises significantly. They have nearly all the weapons that we do and were trained by us since they are our allies. The costs would be very high. Then you still have the points that Allan raised in his previous post.

Then take saudi's as well. If you occupied Iraq, the threat of invasion in Iran and SA would encourage co-operation.
