mark - Haven't there been reports from eyewitnesses? I think I just heard this morning that someone described the plane flying level and then abruptly plunging almost straight down. I'm sure if it had been shot down, the debris would have been scattered over a very wide area, and that doesn't seem to be the case.

This is the type of thing that personally burns my butt. The practice of the government seemingly not being straight with it's citizens. (Not saying that's what's going on.)

Seems strange that the gov wouldn't know, like immediately, if one of it's fighter planes shot down a commercial airliner.

I am sorry to hear about your friend, mr. mark. As for the FBI agent's statement, I don't find it surprising because the policy is to rule nothing out until absolutely proven impossible, but his choice of words was incredibly inept (if accurately quoted) and I am surprised that no clarification has been forthcoming.
