You could also say the most loved. They're are more people who hate Americans than any other country/nationality. Not something I want to debate.

Each year millions from Asia and South America as well as from other parts of the world try to come here, legally or illegally. Come to the "most hated" country in the world? Perhaps he meant, "...the "most hated" country in the world by those MOST IRRATIONAL." On another note, the Toronto Stock Exchange in its first day of trading since Sep 11th closed up 0.76% after opening down more than 0.8%. Volume was quite heavy at 189M shares - about the 10th most active day of trade ever. As the TSE normally trades less than 70M shares when the US exchanges are closed, I find the strong close quite impressive if not quite surprising. In any case, much more pleasant than I expected. To Filipinos, America is the Most Loved country in the world. The Philippines has been so Pro-American that there's a saying: “ Filipinos love Americans more than the Americans love themselves.” Why so? History has it that after 400 years fighting an Oppressive Spanish regime, the Filipinos finally won and got a taste of Independence for a few months until the Americans occupied their land (the defeated Spaniards sold the Philippines to America). They fought the new invaders but quit after a few months when they realized their Bolos and Knives were no match to Guns and Cannons. They came to love the Americans who treated them well, educated them and promised them Independence —- that when the Japanese came to invade them for 3 years, they fought the new invaders trusting the “I Shall Return” parting words of Gen. MacArthur (a retired soldier who was earlier commissioned to organize and train a Philippine Army prior to Independence). The Japanese ambition of conquering the whole Asia and Australia and ruling over China permanently did not come true when the Invaders got bogged down in the Philippines --- giving more time for General MacArthur to lobby hard to convince Washington to help not only Europe but also Asia. As promised, the Filipinos became Independent through peaceful means courtesy of the Best people in the entire world on July 4, 1946. Later, the British, French, Netherlands and other conquering nations granted Independence also through peaceful means to the countries they once ruled. If only all people resolve their differences through Peaceful Means. Unfortunately, not all Filipinos love America. Among the people who hate America the most are the muslim Abu Sayyaf Kidnap for Ransom group of Bin Laden who force Muslim and Christian civilians alike to become Human Shields. Lastly, if America suddenly invites all Filipinos to come to America with no more waiting for 20 years or so —- there would be little left in the Philippines to quarrel among themselves anymore. Even those working in 130 difference countries would be interested in coming here. One country they like also is Canada. I'm saying these things because I believe Americans are the Best even if other Americans do not think so of themselves.
