Analysts describe the deal as a boon to Amazon and an endorsement of its long-term viability.

LOL. I believe it is an endorcement of the fact vendors will not supply Amazon with inventory for the fall due to the lack of working capital. Notice all Amazon has been doing is trying to find someone to partner with that will supply their own inventory. The overlap of prior categories is incredible. The huge announcement a few years ago about tools. Then the announcement about kitchen and outdoor products. Target sells small appliances. Circuit City sells electronics. Amazon's growth was to come through the growth in electronics, the kitchen store, etc. Kind of difficult to grow if the vendors will not provide inventory.
