I'll accept your amendment--I was suggesting that you look at it with your lawyer, or former lawyer (did you actually give up your bar membership?) hat on. But I'm not sure you answered my question. Or if you did, I didn't follow the answer. When you say you would bow to the standards of the community, I have to ask which standards -- the standards that believe in Constitutional rights even at some personal discomfort, or the standard that says ban gang colors even it that is tromping on students' constitutional rights? Both are community standards, just different communities. Or, perhaps to say it more accurately, overlapping but not identical communities.
