John...

Don't be candid...
Can you give me two or three good reasons why they hate our guts?

Jim

Well I disagree again.

Kamikazee Hijacking changes everything. The " sucess of September 11", will inspire a huge number of potential suicide suicide bombers to attempt Kamikazee Hijacking. How do you know that Bin Laden does not have fifty more teams with trained pilots, ready to do the same ?

There have been a huge number of Palestinian suicide bombers. With the spectacular success of Sept 11, I am sure that all the potential Palestinian Suicide bombers are looking for ways to get flight training, and perform a Kamakazee Hijacking too. The Tamil Tigers have had a lot suicide bombers, who have acted as human bombs. I am sure that Tamil Tigers are thinking of Kamikazee Hijacking too.

A few weeks of disruption and procedural changes, and airplane hardware modifications, are well worth it.

RE:"The odds are so remote of a repeat that they are almost infinitesimal."

John...they tried it again today. A couple guys with knives got back on the continuation of a monday flight.
Not to mention a few more posing as "crew"...with fake pilot credentials...

Again they have closed down the corridor...

I guess someone thinks the skies aren't quite as safe a you...

Jim

John, Re: All our choices. We have extrapolated one rare and unusual event to our everyday life, exactly what the terrorists bank on. The odds are so remote of a repeat that they are almost infinitesimal

Are you so sure ? After this incidence, it is now quite clear that every plane should be treated as missile(the expert estimated it is about 1/20 the power of the nuke dropped on to Hiroshima) and some very tough(may be cruel) measures have to be implemented in particular the cockpit, like under no circumstance the pilots have to give up control of the cockpit, no matter what happened in the cabin.
