I'm with you Jim. Look at the "handle" you are communicating with. :-)

All I can say is you misunderstood my post. Your post indicated that the structure was poorly designed and I was countering that. I MADE NO COMMENTS, MUCH LESS DERAGATORY, ABOUT THE FIRE FIGHTERS WHO WERE RISKING THEIR LIVES. I have known you for quite some time - as a gentleman and a reasonable person. Since you said you are a trained fire fighter, I thought that people might think that your argument is may be treated as an "expert" voice.

Just making things clear.

Peace!

<<All we need now is for some self appointed
experts to tell their families just how stupid they
were for going in there. It took guts and I'm
comfortable with the fact I would have had that
type of "gut" had it been my job, if your not
comfortable with that it's your problem.>>

After I re-read this, I am not sure why you are attacking me for things I did not say or mean. I was commenting on YOUR statements and your comment on the structural design as a "trained fire fighter!"

As per your comment on "self appointed expert," the professional code of ethics for engineers preclude me from claiming to be an expert in a field that I am not competent in. I made that disclaimer in my statement by saying that I am not a practicing structural engineer. Yet, I want all those people who misunderstood my post to know that I have taken three courses on structural analysis and three on structural design in my undergraduate engineering. What is your structural engineering background, Captain?
