**OT**

I **think** I have made an important decision in deciding(for the moment at least) to put off my travel plans to Peru for the moment. Much planning went into this trip and for this it is very regrettable since I do not know when I will get a chance to visit again. I was hoping for a Nepal trip in Spring of '01 so Peru will be a ways off. I also hate the fact that I am ceding my freedom of mobility at least in part because of men with guns; do they ever do any good? The fact that we will probably be going to war with Afghanistan(and anyone who stands in our way) in the coming days does not lend for a pleasant trip to an already relatively dangerous place. The latter fact is not so much an issue to me, but my brother, sister and father were very worried and I did not to worry them more, especially my father. This was already the Guilt Trip because I said it does not feel like a vacation because of all of the people across the river beneath the rubble in NYC. But I do not want to go on a Guilt/Worry trip....that is not exactly what I call a vacation. So it seems I am statebound.

Contiguously yours,

Brian
