I am going to post that email and then I am going to post my response. Many of you may find it trivial or out of place but it is how one American feels and I want to share it with the world. IGNORANCE? How about this. How about SURVIVAL? Penny, Americans are ANGRY right now and that anger will be directed towards people that appear to be "Muslim" or "Arabic. It will happen. It IS happening. There is a reason for this. It is human nature. It is called SURVIVAL. I don't know if you know who Michael Medved is? He is a national talk radio host and is located here in Seattle. On his radio show yesterday, he told of how the Somalian community in South Seattle were celebrating the terrorist act in our country. A Muslim leader heard about the celebration and went down to the area looking for the leader of this Somalian community. When he confronted the leader and asked him to quiet his people down, that it was inappropriate to be celebrating the death and destruction of thousands of unsuspecting, innocent Americans, he was roughly shown the door of the restaurant he was in and told to F**K off. Many of these Somalians are here at the invitation of the American Govt. (us, you and me) and have been sponsored by, given money, shelter, food stamps, welfare, and support by us. It is reported that many of them are not American citizens. When Bill Clinton was president, the bodies of two dead American soldiers were dragged through the streets of Somalia to the cheers and glee of the Somalian people. It is time that Americans stand back and reevaluate our position in the world. I don't condone hatred and violence. I don't condone racism or racial profiling but, Penny I am sick and tired of being hated and profiled by those that come to this country only to take advantage. I won't like or love or lend a hand to others that come here with hate for me and my country, those that are only interested in eliminating the Christians and Jews or in their words "heretics" because they/we are "Satan." Because of what took place Tuesday, I will forever more look upon Arabic looking people with suspicion in my heart. Nothing that anyone can say to me will change that fact. Whether the woman that complains about my right to be frightened and suspicious of others likes it or not is irrelevant. It is NAIVE to believe that our world has not changed. It is no longer safe to believe that everyone just loves one another and that we can all just "get along." I woke up Wednesday morning and looked out the window. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and the world looked so beautiful. As I lay there thinking, my thoughts went out to the victims of the horrible events of the day before and my heart was broken. As I contemplated what had taken place, I asked myself, why? Then the realization hit that "they" want to take all of this away from us (Americans) and me and my family and my neighbors. That "they" want us eliminated from the face of the earth and the ones that they don't eliminate will be enslaved and slaves in their intolerant world. That "they" will turn our world up side down if given the chance and create a living hell if we let them. That is a frightening thought and a very real possibility. I will temper my anger, I will continue to be tolerant, but I will forever more be on the look out for others that hate me and my country so much that they wish me and my loved ones dead. If I find them I will do every thing in my power to make sure that they are not EVER allowed in my country. The WORLD Trade center was full of people, and many of those people were here from other countries. It wasn't just Americans that were attacked Tuesday, the WORLD was attacked. The Arabic/Muslim community has declared war on the WORLD and so it is at war with the WORLD. If we don't kill them first, they will kill us. WHEN they have access to nuclear weapons and/or biological weapons they WILL use them on us. Have NO doubt about that Penny, they WILL use them on us. Anyone that believes otherwise is a fool. The stakes are high. I have two children. They are the only children I could have due to medical problems I suffered as a young lady. My first born is my precious son Robert. Robert is named after his father. He is 23 yrs old and the light of my life. He still calls me mommy and will be the son that will cry with me and comfort me the most in my old age. He is sensitive and pure of heart. My "baby" and last born is my beloved beacon, the one that is strong like a warrior, the one with so much individuality and self esteem that even now at the age of 22, innocently believes that he can do anything. He is my miracle child because he wasn't supposed to be born. I may lose my sons. I may lose my sons to the hatred that some Arabic people have towards me and my country. I can't tell the ones that love me from the ones that hate me, can you? Maureen
