Terrorists probably aren't readily available for study, however. I'd guess that many terrorists are off-scale bright, but that evolved brain chemistries drive pre-programmed dogma rather than rationale. Or, perhaps, they just grew up beta testing the video games that my son enjoys. Pathological cowards could probably be treated with drugs like the reuptake inhibitors. Highly visible psychopaths like Hussein (sp?), however, bring groups of like individuals together, to comfort one another with respect to their pathologies. I obviously don't know WTF I'm talking about. I do know, however, that the world will be a better place if we just bite the bullet and say "he's sick" or "they're sick", and contain/disable them . We'll all be safer. "Skinheads" in the U.S.? Take any one of them as an individual, and you have a coward. Take a group of them, and you have hatred with a hardly-discriminating vent. I was in a KMart a few weeks ago, back-to-school shopping for my kids. There was a group of young boys who obviously knew each other, sitting on the floor among the racks of clothing. One dominant boy was telling racial jokes. The others were nervously laughing, aware that something was wrong. One boy was, however, particularly willing to join in. He didn't know any racial jokes, but he did contribute "blonde" jokes. I'm certain that he wanted to be as cool as the leader, and that he felt that his repertoire was insufficient. Not a parent in sight. No lessons about dignity or tolerance. I walked over and told the kids that the jokes were demeaning and inappropriate. The boys scattered immediately, but the two leaders walked away looking back at the "cop", resentful. Not a parent in sight .
