Just remembered something else I wanted to rant about. Are we looking at possible overkill in the future of airline security? I would think armed pilots behind a more secure door listening in on the cabin all the time would be plenty. Not enough? Okay, an armed (undercover) Marshall on every flight. Still not enough? How about a panic button available to each pilot that engages autopilot and won't disengage without a password. Still not enough? The ability of ground control to engage autopilot.

As in all aspects of life, we can't make all bad things *impossible*. If we can make them far less likely, that should be good enough. And any one of a number of small changes would thwart this approach to terrorism.
