A couple of Northwest Airlines pilots went straight through Security today to prove a point. One had a knife, one had a corkscrew. Went right through. Lots of huffing and puffing by the NW bigshots.

Bob, not against armed marshalls on board. Right now it would be very taxing on security forces to assign a qualified, trusted and properly screened agent on each flight, but short term it is perhaps the only workable solution while we develop other technical solutions. It takes no time to reserve one seat for a security agent. It takes months to get all the necessary approvals and get the airliners in for maintenance to perform the modifications you suggest. I would say probably years. In the mean time, tight ground security (and accompanying delays) and an armed guard on board would definitely put a stop to hijackings. That is what El Al does and it works for them.

It's probable they've shot their wad with the airline bomb thing for now.

It seems they spent at least 5 years planning and carrying out this mission, there isn't an easy supply of qualified commercial airline pilots willing to meet their god in a blaze of glory. It's not like digging up yet another Palestinian to blow himself up in a pizzeria.

Their real goal is to get their hands on the atomic bomb. I understand they already tried unsuccessfully to buy the technology from the Russians during the collapse of that empire.

Pakistan has the a-bomb and is a major breeding ground for these cockroaches.

We'll have overkill in a lot of the wrong things as a result of this.
