Lest we forget what this is all about, I am copying below a short and poignant excerpt from a PM I received from one of our own SI members, a brave NY fireman which will once more dare the instability of the structures there to try and save even a single life:

"Already the stench of rot exists. The nature of this recovery is a dangerous one with perils throughout the remaining fragile structures. Ground zero is a death zone. The concrete structures have for the most part been pulverized which makes digging easier except for the entangled steel skeleton which compounds flexible mobility. Any time table for recovery is quickly reestablished no sooner after first establishing it. Bill"
