CB - this "Only been to Europe Once" thing...

Are you just poking at DJ, or are you serious?

'Cause I lived in Europe for a few years. Worked in England and Germany. Also worked in Canada and US. Since returning, I found myself looking at my fellow Americans as having a rather narrow world view.

Your examples are a bit silly I think, because it has nothing to do with whether Baseball or Cricket is more exciting. Or the rules by which one plays "Football". It isn't about depth perception from either canyons or mountains. Or geography or topography of any sort.

Nor is it merely about effective transfer of hot water to a shower head (which nobody in Europe seems to have figured out yet, I'll admit). It also isn't about hundreds of different folks continuously smacking their head on the same low beam in a pub without doing something about it... since 1497 AD. And not getting sued either. Or about having to remember to buy a plug when you buy an electrical appliance. Or that turning doorknobs is a futile exercise.

Or that only an American in a foreign country could be overheard saying, over again for the fourth time, and in a very very loud clear voice: "Where... Is... The... Mens... Room?"

It would be funnier if it were not so true and not so central to the triggers underlying this weeks terrible events.

John.

It's only that US having somebody like JFK ready for these kind of times would make me feel more comfortable. OTH dont ask me, how the world (and US) thought about him during the Cuban crisis. So... Let's hope for the best for your Skipper.

BTW, we both know there's no center of the world.
