Victor, Yeah Laszlo was a handsome guy. Pakistan (rationally) figures that US support has a whole lot more value long term than Taliban who seem intent on running their country into the ground like Saddam Hussein. As my one Iranian friend who became disillusioned with the Iranian revolution said: "You can't eat religion."

With Russsia, Iran, and India backing the Afghani Northern Alliance, Pakistan needs US support as a counterweight- Plus Pakistan and the US have a long history of working together....
