I do not know whether Gore would have won if all valid ballots were counted correctly. I do believe he would have won had all ballots been counted as the casters intended. But that's impossible to prove, and so is irrelevant.

What I object to is the way the Bushies shut down the count and had their man declared president. They couldn't abide a fair and full recount of Florida votes, once they knew they won the first count. Gore wan't perfect either. That is why he caved in the end. But I expected better of our system. I had forgotten who is really in charge.

Lastly, no, that is not the position I take. The position I take is: I do not trust people who wear their religion or their patriotism on their sleeves.
