Teresa-- he is making it a religios war. He is aware many could care less about Laden but get the adrenalin pumping when they feel their religion is at risk--- that just means they are requiring us to kill many more of them,, Oh well-- Since the planes are going there anyway the cost of additional ordenanceis low compare to making another trip at a later date.

This is the demonization of Islam.

I have an idea ... was just listening to one of the commentators on CNN and he said we could take over their TV reception. We can put on Billy Graham 24/7 preaching the gospel<ggg> ... translated of course. That will really piss them off ... of course this really only is effective against a country that actually watches TV.

Slipped right through the cracks....

U.S. officials confirmed that a few weeks ago, the FBI detained an Arab man in Minnesota when he tried to seek flight simulator training for a large jetliner.

Officials said the FBI had no reason to charge him at the time and instead began deportation proceedings. Those proceedings were ongoing when the attacks took place Tuesday. He was being held but was not cooperating with the FBI.

Two French media reports in recent days have said that the FBI queried French authorities about a French-Algerian man who was taking flying lessons in Boston when he was arrested three weeks ago.

Europe 1 radio said U.S. authorities failed to heed a response identifying him as a possible terrorist with links to bin Laden, who U.S. authorities have told NBC News was almost certainly the organizer behind Tuesday’s attacks. It said the information “apparently got lost in the enormous American police machinery.”

The FBI had no comment on the reports or the detention of the man in Minnesota.

Regarding this article..It was just announced on NYC network news that they arrested man whom they gave no details on in this article is the same man who they detained at the airport yesterday with a fake pilot license.

Teresa:

Fanatics and fundamentalists in any religion will say what the Taliban spiritual leader has said. There are Muslim fanatics in India who say the same thing to foment trouble. It is not Islam against Christians. Islam is not bad. There are many devout Islams who will die for their faith, But they will not kill in the name of faith. So the Taliban leader so called "spiritual" is a waco. I know for sure that if the US walks into Afghanistan, then the Afghans will come out in support of the US troops. I live in a city on the west coast which has a significant Afghan population. They are willing to go back to Afghanistan along with the US troops. They have had to flee the Taliban oppression themselves. So should we start killing them? I hope not. We did that with the Japaneses Americans and repented later.

Per the Bin Laden 8/96 treatise, the thing feared most by the extremists is the burning of the Saudi oil fields. I suspect that really means Bin Ladin fears losing his money supply.

As to the Taliban, they are emboldened by Bin Ladin's successes in repelling the Soviets. Now I imagine they are emboldened by the attack on the US.

The only way they can win is drawing fresh recruits, and making it a holy war is the only draw. If we can demonstrate convincingly that our quarrel is solely with murderers and that Islam is not the enemy, it can help stem the recruitment call.
