Hi CB, before I wake up, like to know <<Yesterday Congress invoked the War Powers Act, unanimous in the Senate, 420-1 in the House>> who was the 1 and what was his/her reasoning, if any?

Until the AM, when I get to my response to Andreas Braem ...

Nothing happening here in Munich - the Oktoberfest will take place, but it will sure be no fun and the attendance will probably hit the low records. SZ[*] suggests indirectly one should go on strike and not go there. I read a lot but understand less and less. I started to wake up early again - the thread has probably noted - because probably something in my dreams is asking me to wake up.

Waiting and counting the shoes dropped.

[*] SZ: Sueddeutsche Zeitung, the Munich daily, 1.4M printed - highest in Germany, bar the yellow Bildzeitung with 6M.

CB -

There are at least 14 different intellignce agencies that U.S. Taxpayers pay for

State Dept Bureau of Research
National Recon Office
-associated wtih Defense Intel Agency
Army Intelligence
Office of Naval Intelligence
Air Force Intelligence
Marine Corp Intelligence

FBI
Secret Service
IRS
DEA
U.S. Customs
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (the party agency!)
U.S Treasury Financial crimes unit - FinCen (not sure who the report too)

and of course NSA and CIA

Total intelligence budget has run 24-28 Billion for the last few years, according to Washington Post.

There's been an ongoing turf battle between the military intelligence side and the CIA for some time.

They have interesting opinions of each other- ;-)

Re: DEBKA - Yes, they seemed a litttle 'out there' ...but waiting for fact-checked info can be a LONG wait.
