I did not understand him(?) to like the gore, I am sure he is a sensitive soul. I understood him to consider the grievances of the "natives" sufficient to absolve them from guilt in having performed these acts. Absent an alternative explanation of what he meant, I continue to think I have interpreted correctly. Yes, I characterized that as condoning the acts, and I think it is........

No one thinks the war has really begun, nor does anyone suggest it will be a cakewalk. I just think the onerousness should not be exaggerated.......

"Sometimes I get the impression that the conservatives think that fight against terroism will be as easy.."

Some may, but many on this thread have made it clear that this will be a war and like all wars losse will be incurred and pain will be endured.

The point is very simple, what other solution is there. Do we continue with the totally ineffective, look the other way, slap on the wrist policy that we have had to date and somehow expect things to change. If you keep doing what you did, you keep getting what you got. This is the problem with the liberal position. It is not and has not worked.

I suggest that history tells us that the only option available to us the course our government appears to have chosen, with the support of the American people, many of whom understand its implications and many of whom do not. I think the Prez has wisely begun to make those who are not aware understand that we are in for a long and painful process. This isn't going to be wham, bam, thank you, maam.
