Decompression might be a good thing in some cases

It might. But I am sure you are not advocating explosive decompression such as would occur with opening a door. You are perhaps thinking of rapid decompression. I guess the captain would have his mask employed?

Even if lungs were not destroyed in the decompression one would still need the ability to deal with the risk of hypoxia rather quickly, and certainly the ability to repressurize. I see some sense in your suggestion, but I don't know if it could be done with controlled safety, nor if there are not more pragmatic solutions.
