Obviously some parameters involving human physiology and aircraft structure would have to be taken into account when planning for such an event. Some people will get hurt or worse but this is in the desperate measure category anyway.

Hey, maybe the cockpit should be truly compartmentalized. Expensive but I like it.

The gas idea sounds good to me with the cockpit
hermetically sealed protecting the pilots behind
reinforced doors ....

at least they would have to smuggle on some kind
of gas-mask aparatus as well as weapons , which
would make their job harder .

I suppose they could rig something like that up...
kind of getting into mission impossible stuff,
and lots of retrofitting .

I still like the idea though...humane as well for everyone involved , and doesn't require pilots to be armed security.
