Hi Frank: Your Husky did well on Friday.
What did you get for an entry? I tend to like the tanker VLCCF. May be a good entry point very soon if danger lurks for the shipping lanes, would be great to get that one at a intermediate low, keeping tight stops. Tankers may be able to get some high premium payments, if they have to make gauntlet runs thru the various straights.

Read a book once said Chevron is best for a buy and hold with gains of 11% year over year, all due to dividends, splits and the best of price appreciation ( I suppose this is in reference to only big cap DOW stocks). Same guy said Rockwell had the best capital management (sure is discounted these days) for a former DOW company. I was really hoping to get back into EOT and HGT, but it looked like a big sell-off was going to happen and never did. My thinking is the market makers will continue to manipulate the integrated oils and service companies when possible in sideways trading with plenty of downgrades on a whim, etc. You may be right about a run rally for the near-term.

It sure was evident last week that the oil sector can have a bull run with war rumors and actions. XLE on the NYSE is a great way to get some profit from an integrated bull run in the US markets. The NCE Energy royalty also looks very good as a long term holding. No wonder you guys keep those royalty companies to yourselves up North.

Best Wishes;
Rails

Hi frank,

Other companies I like are Suncor Energy
Thanks I noticed Anyer's post too. That exactly makes COS.UN (and other Canadian OIL weighted trusts more attractive now). Ironic that CNQ traded at a discount to its peers in the last run up for being too OILY.

there are three places that could and should be nuked; Algeria, Libya and Iraq
Frank with all due respect. Just what in those countries are you going to nuke ? Erase the entire countries ? I'm not up for that. Not to mention that, 'That ain't half the battle' and I doubt they're done yet. And FWIW I don't think we can stay comfy up here in the frozen north either. For my money this chit has just started. I think anyer's post re: Cities are Dinosaurs is also quite compelling. I've been of a similar mind for a long time and now technology means that you needn't give up too many conveniences.

I get the feeling that folks just don't quite get the magnitude of the statement that the WTC bombing has made. Whoever is waging this doesn't need to attack again tomorrow or next week, just when we start to feel safe again. It doesn't need to be as big, we now know how big it can be. I don't see a quick resolution to this and this won't go away with a few quick band aid bombs, no matter how big.

Big Bull's post is an eye opener if you are not up on this stuff.
