Doc,
well well well...there you are again...focused on the real issues.

yes you were quite "right" with that prediction...but certainly not "again".

how does it make you feel to be right?
come on tell us about it.

careful though...once you get started...being right is habit forming and may influence your political philosophy?

with foresight like you just demonstrated, you could get a job as a fortune teller.
uw

i nearly forgot your comments about military intelligence.

you said...
our military budget INCREASED every year under Clinton. And there were NO cuts in our spending on military intelligence.

later you mentioned no cuts in military intelligence funding again...

of course both of those statements are untrue, and i skipped over remarks about MI because even if true, they are quite irrelevant to the current situation.

i would love to know your sources for such information. i hope in the future you will provide links or at least a reference so we can all keep up with the latest.

let me help you understand a few things about our info gathering because
regardless of funding levels military intelligence has little to nothing to do with this terrorist strike in the US.

military intelligence is oriented to gathering information on the enemy, weather and terrain in the military operational area.

our military is currently prohibited from gathering intelligence on US civilians anywhere and on anyone in the USA...military intelligence gathering activities in the US on anyone are severely limited and nearly non existent. if they do discover anything, the case is immediately turned over to the FBI.

the FBI is the agency charged with gathering intell on all persons within the USA and on US citizens anywhere.

the CIA is also severely limited within the USA and may not target US citizens.

now having said that...the military does do extensive and continuous data collection and contingency planning...constantly revising intelligence estimates and war plans as the world situation evolves day to day.

information gathering on likely armed enemies and the collection and dissemination of data on weather and terrain in areas that our planes, ships and soldiers are or are likely to be deployed is constant.

speaking only for the army here...military intelligence officers and non-coms are at every level of staff beginning with the battalion S-2 (intelligence) section. every A team has an intel sergeant.

every division, that was cut, lost the division G2 section, 3 brigade S2 sections and approx 15 battalion S2 sections. that is a total cut of 76 intelligence units in our fighting units...in addition, some separate, large, army, military intelligence battalions, including several in europe, were deactivated.

i feel sure the cuts in the navy and air force resulted in similar cuts in intel units.

all that intel money must have gone to your pay raises.
