You are probably right. Don't know very much about the area but I remember reading about Iranian and Bin Laden support. Could have been only money, as you say, but after the events in Macedonia I wonder.

What we are witnessing right now, it is not a proof that the Hegelian Nation-State is still necessary. Quite the contrary. What we are seeing is another proof that the Nation-State is a dangerous anachronism.

It is very erroenous to believe that putting up barriers, slowing things down in the name of 'security' will save us from such incidents.

The genius is out of the box and there's no way to bottle it again.

This ecnomy we live today, has reached this stage because it got a degree of openess never before experienced. Our economies are so dependent on this openess and speed that to play with it fine tunning here and there in name of 'security' can cause big losses to it.

The days of the man in uniform at the end of any means of communications is over.
