Re: WWI: it had nothing to do with "cycles of violence", and everything to do with politics. Prussia was a revisionist power, seeking to change the balance of power in Europe, and exploiting the Balkan conflict to that purpose. Britain and France were the chief status quo powers trying to check Prussia. Other nations lined up according to which side best represented their interests. Do you think that the terrorists would hesitate to use a plutonium weapon against us, regardless of our retaliation?
