the thing that causes revolutions is not declining quality of life, it is rising expectations that causes revolutions. In one sense, we do need to look at what causes the "terrorist" mentality. And I think that it is what you just said, they don't even have their basic needs. After we obliterate the terrorist organizations and supporters, we need to provide enough support to the civilians so that their expectations start to rise and rebel against the nutballs that create oppressive societies that don't value human life.

I found that afghani guys post very intelligent...

He says why would US bomb Afghanistan....?

To take out their communication lines.
To cut off their electricity and water ?
To bomb their manufacturing industry ?
To finish off their military ?
To dent their economy ?
To destroy their beautiful cities ?

They don't HAVE any of the
above. No communication lines, no electricity, no water, no manufacturing industry, no formal, organised militia, no economy, no beautiful city.

So then, what is the objective of bombing them really ? What would you hope to achieve ?

To kill their civilians thereby inducing them into obediance ?

Most of them are already dead. And besides, thats the last concern the Taalibaan has. They'd rather the civilians be dead anyway !!! Pursuit of war and destruction is less hassling that way...
