Yes, remove the Taliban from power. Find sympathetic Mullahs in the region to promote an internationally sponsored Marshall plan to get the Afghanistan people out of the hell hole that is their world. Promote land reform in Afghanistan and pakistan. Promote democracy in the middle east, use every effort to stop both israelis and palistinian from employing inflammatory rhetoric toward each other. Enforce sanction and perhaps use military force on states that support terrorism.. and again follow through with a plan similar to reforms that were created in Japan after WW2.

Little Joe,
It seems to me there are only two ways to stop terrorist attacks. One is two kill or capture the terrorists. The other is to make the consequences of their actions unbearable (even for them). I do not believe it is possible to kill or capture all the different terrorist groups before the next heinous act. Therefore, I believe all terrorists should be given the following warning. The next terrorist attack on the US will result in the annihilation of two cities located in the following countries: Afghanistan, Libya, Iraq, Iran. A second attack will result in the annihilation of four cities. Third attack, six cities. And on and on. The destruction would be by carpet bombing. I would not use nukes until one is used on us. Then the old policy of mutual assured destruction would come in to play. ALL major cities destroyed. Obviously, many thousands of innocent people would pay for the acts of their radical brothers. So be it. The innocent Japanese and German people had to pay for the folly of their governments decisions in WWII. I see no difference here. The ball would be in their court. Stop the madness or pay the ultimate price.
