I heard that prices raised significantly. Seems to be the opposite of what I would have expected.

I think the new world we have been exposed to requires that we be a little less trusting and a little more curious about oddities. I would still fly tomorrow if I had somewhere to go because I think it is probably safer then it has ever been right now. But that is because we and the system are a little bit paranoid. It isn't going to change back anytime soon either.

L1,
that was one of the points that I made earlier. We will probably go back to normal in our day to day lives in a couple of weeks. But higher prices across the board will affect what we do.

I need to go to SJ this week. I can fly there, which will take me 4.5 hours, or I can drive there in 5.

flying is broken down as:
.5 hours to airport
2 hours @ airport
1 hour in the air
1 hour out of airport, to car rental and to destination

It will cost me (and my company) less for me to drive and the convenience factor of flying is out of the window with the delays inside the airport.

I am driving.
