Whoa Nellie!!

Falwell's comment are despicable but he does not maintain a network of folks whose sworn mission is to kill Americans or Jews or whatever. OBL does. Big difference.

Unfortunately, I thought you would say that. However, the person who deliberately sets a chain of events in motion is the responsible party. Osama blew up the planes and the WTC. He did not "inspire the acts", he directed them. On the other hand, no one has shown evidence that Falwell or Robertson are similarly responsible for any act of terror, or that they have said anything to directly incite violent behavior.

On the face of it, it is arguable that bin Laden and Falwell are apples and apples to an extent. I haven't seen Falwell encouraging actions against the innocent, but perhaps bin Laden and his followers are warped into a thinking that the innocent are not really innocent. In the final analysis, I think that Falwell has betrayed Christianity (and the New Testament) just as bin Laden has betrayed Islam (and the Koran). Who does Falwell think he is to judge anyone?

I am certainly not pro-gay, pro-abortion, or pro-feminist, but I am a firm believer than Falwell has been smokin' sumthin. When I first saw the news flash, I assumed that someone had hacked CNN and falsely quoted Falwell.

Guess not...
