Can you imagine where we would be today if the Saudi Government had allowed Osama bin Laden to take the military action against Iraq instead of the United States.
Hitler II would have had military control (or destruction ) of the oil fields.

Hi Ike,

Not trying to be impertinent here but would like the Islamic point of view on the following.

Would not the ultimate martyrdom occur under the following scenario:

- Osama bin Laden gives up to US authorities
- he is flown to the US and indicted
- he pleads guilty to 5000 counts of murder
- he is sentenced to death
- the penalty is carried out

Does this scenario not immediately catapult him into the equivalent of Islamic sainthood from his point of view? And following that, would that not also raise the stature of the so called Islamic fundamentalist movement? Consequently, would this not be a favorable scenario for this particular movement?

Personally though, I think Osama bin Laden does not have the courage to do this and will bet anyone 25 cents on this. I think martyrdom is for the foot soldiers, not the chiefs but would respectfully like to get Ike's opinion.
