It's going on.

The cold warriors come out off their holes. First evidence in Germany: "anti-terror"-laws.

One of these laws abolish special rights of religious congregations.

These rights were inhibiting that terroristic associations under the cover of a church could get fought.

Of course this is targeted against certain islamic unitings.
But it seems to be clear that also other "churches" (f.e. a US-based one...) are involved in criminal activities and finally can be pursued.

Like in every nation with national religions the law has it's limits where politic and religion flow in each other in a swamp of dull emotions and criminal engagement. Even if Germany is widely free of such interweavings I fear that this new law too will not open the grey-zones of our "great" church (I just say: Rome...) for investigations by a public prosecutor*.

OTOH exactly this kind of law would have inhibited that the movement of the people in eastern Germany, that begun in and around the churches and finally led to the liberation of the DDR: Of course those people abused their church for republic-hostile conspiration.

Odd, he?

Jury

* nevertheless that would be interesting - say to see whether the big styled "saving" of nazi-criminals through the catholic church after war ii could be reach a court...

Now I'll have one, or maybe 2, or....

Went to cash at the close oh Great and Mighty Cat Herder! The risk reward of this particular situation is -1 IMHO, so esprit de corp or no I'm outta here! If I didn't have so much riding on it I may have stayed to see the next card, but as I told Berney this afternoon, I am concerned that we have another shoe to drop. I dunno what it is, but as you know when your'e herding cats any small clap of thunder or dog bark can set them off!@^%^%(&*^&(__ BARF! gggg and tomorrow is a travel day for me.

I hope you are as well as you can be and in cash!

God rest the souls of last Tuesday 9/11!
