Thanx tekboy. I know you are very smart about these issues.

OTOH--the "Jerusalem conference--terrorists patching up their differences to go against Israel and "the second Israel"--America--someone from U.S., people from Iran, etc...

Makes me wonder just how much is involved. I agree Hussein would have sponsored w/ $, that the brilliance of the planning probably is Bin Laden. Still why can't anybody just address that odd case of possible switched identity?

But there seems to be compelling evidence that Hussein was behind the attempted assassination of George Bush Sr. during his visit to Kuwait.

Personally, I understand that we didn't have sufficient support from the Coalition to permit an overthrow of Hussein as a mission goal of Desert Storm. And we certainly didn't have any desire to try and straighten out that desperately divided country, or prevent various parties such as the Turks or Iranians from carving out their little parts of the country.

But we're probably to a point where we might need to smack him around again and deflate his military capabilities.

I also believe the alleged ties between Bin Laden and Iraq are quite likely. Of all the people who stands to destabilize Saudi Arabia in the manner Bin Laden desires, it would be Hussein.

Btw, would any of your sources be willing to confirm or refute the rumour that Iraqi forces have been detected massing on the Jordanian border in anticipation of an Israeli assault on the West Bank?
