Market Outlook
Not Just Another Monday

As analysts predicted, stocks fell sharply today with the DJIA giving up a record nearly 680 points as traders absorbed the events of last week. Still, stocks are expected to make some recovery in the coming sessions, and as the nation recovers. Many companies are aggressively buying back their own stock in an effort to shore up stock prices and thereby the market and economy. Expectations for some sort of recovery later today are dwindling as there has been little spark in today's trading, and certain sectors directly affected by Tuesday's tragedy such as airlines and insurance are expected to continue to fall. Still, analysts are hopeful that a recovery will take place in the near future. A half point interest rate cut by the Fed, as with previous cuts, seems to have had little effect on stocks, but the very fact that Wall Street is open for business so soon after so much human and infrastructure loss is bringing a sense of pride and confidence to the trading floor, and to the nation.
