I'd like to know where all this money is going to come from?
This recent attack will undoubtedly have an impact on various businesses that are travel related. Many jobs are already on the chopping block and more will be lost in the coming months. Our surplus is shrinking quickly and will only get smaller when the impact of all these lost jobs hit.

I doubt a meaningfull system will ever be deployed. I used to work with the old SDI people many years ago. Mostly, they thought of it as a lifetime of contracts [and career]. They all knew that as soon as you built something, you could build something to get around it just as fast...which meant it was multiple life-times of contracts. Eventually, there will be an Administration that will come to grips with it.
