Interesting on the foreign selling speculation Harry.. the dollar is something i've also discussed many times. Some companies will benefit from dollar weakness.. exporters or anyone who's products and services gain competitive advantage via currency.

The cause is of course the lowered treasury yield.. normally good for our stocks as it lowers cost of borrowing, but also lowers the premium for foreign holding of dollar denominated notes.

Short term effect of rate cutting is lower dollar, longer term effect is priming 6-9 month money- investment- spending pump which benefits business. Somewhere in between, there's the golden moment when the negative effect becomes opportunity.

The Japan market may be rallying for the same reason.. a relative Yen/Dollar change strengthening Yen based securities... not so much a strengthening of Japan companies.
