In many ways I'd say the market levels are simply returning to "normal"- -to the values they would have had had the '90s bubble not occurred.

We seem to be on the fast track to hell at this point. I guess that NYC sped up what was going to happen anyway. I guess that is good, lets get it over with.

Actually, I was thinking about that in my last post on the Piffer Rant thread.

Heinlein talked about the cell structure for subversive groups in a couple of his books.

He also talked about airdropping one-shot guns to the people so that they could attack an occupying enemy and take his weapon.

And of course, Jorj X McKie's story on Dosadi follows along those lines as well (cells attacking the infrastructure).

I don't remember any books by Niven or Pournelle (or Niven and Pournelle) that followed along those lines though.

I actually use to hang out with those guys BTW. Being the SciFi geek that I am and back when I had no life to speak of, I was in a club called the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society. Both Niven and Pournelle were members. Talk about Geekfest though.

Favorite Niven/Pournelle book was Lucifer's Hammer.
