You have many moments of brilliance. Yes, I have been reading about oppression and abuse of Afghani women for a long time. I am mortified and disgusted by it all!

You certainly have your moments of brilliance.....<smile> A dissident man found to be carrying a gun can be captured, tortured, beaten to death and the body cut to pieces and thrown away to wolves......but I must say, thats not a VERY bad fate in comparision... Can you imagine the plight of women (and their kids) in Afghanistan if a few are captured with guns ? I shudder to think..... Nah, US tried to help the Kurds, but ended up making their lives pure hell....a hell which they are still living in....and besides, what would prevent them from reciprocating in kind ? We don't burqa laiden gun totting figures in US, do we ? I think US should keep its good intentions to itself......its kinda noble, but tough to convert every desert in the world into a garden. Planting a few flowers of help, aid, education is enough IMO... BWTHDIK ?
