Immigration laws will be tightened. Pretty soon you will have 'strategic' industries being protected against imports.

"Security" clearances to protect local employees in sectors deemed 'strategic'.

Products will be deemed of dual use a a couple of bureaucrats have to rubber stamp a paper to grant export of said product.

Hey, we know a non-tariff barrier when we see one. The clocks are being turned back. The barriers are being rolled out. All in name of "security".

The US has peaked. And it is showing it by becoming defensive. This does not augur well for the world economy. This will speed up the collapse.

Following my posting about economic hybernation in the BBR Thread, Message 16393390 it would be interesting to peer into the future and see what it reserve to us depsite all the talk that 2002 will be a blank year.
