Majority of political parties in the country have backed President Musharraf's prudent stance over current crisis.

Except Pakistan Muslim League (N) all the major political parties agreed on one point that defence of the country should be the top priority The spokesman of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Farahatullah Babar said the party has no qualms about the assertion that Pakistan comes first and everything else is secondary. "That is why the PPP has already stated that Pakistan must side with the international community in fighting for the rule of law and in curbing the scourge of terrorism," he added.
