I just realized something interesting. If Gore had won the election, I would be totally behind him 100% no matter what he decided to do about this. Even thought I don't like him personally and did not vote for him. I would NEVER make derogatory public statements about his leadership at a time like this. I would be in total, complete support of the President. Total, complete support. But Bush won, and many liberals and liberal talking heads in the media are taking great pains to distance themselves from being totally supportive. Larry King last night prefaced one of his questions about Bush with a distinct emphasis on the phrase "YOUR President" - thus sending a very clear message about what he feels personally. That's the difference. Some people want to pull together, and some want to make sure there are lines drawn. And the most ironic part of it is that some people will read this and think I am lying, and that I would be sniping at Gore if the situation were reversed.
